LEAP Goods evolved from LEAP Design, an award-winning graphic and web design studio in Charlotte, NC. After two decades of creating clever branding for other people, we’ve shifted our focus to product design for ourselves.

Laurie Smithwick is a painter, printmaker, designer, and Charlotte native. Cat Babbie is a fiber artist, bread baker, project manager, and color chaser. By combining our complementary talents, we’ve forged a two-headed creative dynamo capable of churning out exactly what the world is currently lacking: smarter, weirder goods.

Our output is unpredictable by design. Sometimes it’s a Shirt Soup tee that sounds like a 90s indie band. Sometimes it’s an oversized tote, or a pillow that uses punctuation to yell at you. We start with smart design, finish with high quality, and leave a heavy dose of snark in the middle.

On a personal note: Between us, we have four cats, one loom, one letterpress, and two tiny cars. We’re just two longtime friends who realized that if we didn’t start making these things, we’d never stop talking about them.
